Midsummer Night

Today we celebrate midsummer’s eve in Sweden and it’s a wonderfully romantic evening with midnight sun, flowers and fields and whimsical dancing around a may pole. Or…. really it’s an evening of herring with new potatoes and lots and lots of vodka snaps, and I’m talking LOTS OF SNAPS. There will be many a “skål” (cheers) and even more singing, as any self-respecting Swede knows at least two or three snaps songs to accompany the snaps shot down their throats. So, skål ta mej fan!
