I’ve had these over-knee boots for a while and I’ve been wanting to wear them, but I never managed a look that didn’t look just trashy. So, today I experimented with an urban, rock-chic version and I think the boots come out looking good.

I wanted a tiny leather jacket with a large sweater underneath and, oh my was that difficult! This little biker jacket here was perfect and caused no problem; the trouble started with finding something longer that was NOT on the Jacket Layer — eventually (after a lot of testing, fiddling and hair pulling) I went with this sweater on the Shirt Layer and a piece from a Camie Cooper Tee on the Pants Layer (God bless Camie Cooper, the queen of providing ALL layers) to cover the midriff part. Granted, the midriff part is not in the same colour as the sweater, but I actually kind of like the contrast. Finally, the sweater I used, came with this prim bottom attachment that was perfect for that big loose feeling I wanted. I continued with black pants (on the Underpant layer) and then added a beret just because it felt right.
Oh dear, I hope all that was not too confusing! A disclaimer: the bottom prim part of the sweater was actually really hard to make fit perfectly (I never managed a perfect fit), so if you prefer, just skip it for less of a headache.

I really had no intention of posting today as I like to be lazy on Saturdays. However, I went to check out this new-to-me shop, Emery, and I immediately fell for this causal yet rocky dress.

Although it’s definitely a dress, I felt for a more slouchy T-shirt kind of look and added a pair of white skinny jeans and a belt around the hips. My feet went into these pointy stilettos with the strong fuchsia providing an element of colour and picking up on the print on the dress.

These aviator glasses are also from Emery — love them too!

When it comes to counting … or anything mathematical for that matter, I am one person you do not want to ask. My reason for saying this is that Friday will be my last day blogging on MichaMi - Milla has promised to return on Saturday and I have promised to leave the blog in one piece on Friday. So… if my calculations are correct, that leaves me with 3 blog posts to prepare and post between now and then. But, since I really can’t seem to add correctly - I have actually photographed 5 outfits, instead of 3 – so today and tomorrow I will be posting once in the morning and once in the evening for a double dose of Sofia – I hope no-one minds.
Anyone who owns a television probably has heard of this new series on the CW called Gossip Girls? While I don’t really watch TV all that often, I can see the impact of the show resonating with it’s fans in the same way that Sex and the City did. This evening’s outfit is inspired by all the Gossip Girls floating around the grid, just another day in the upper east side’s swanky private Catholic Schools – except this look comes with a twist:

In an attempt to follow the hottest trend in Second Life – changing face; I’ve actually started out this look with a brand spanking new skin from Launa Fauna. To me, this skin oozes with edge and sex appeal and it is one of the things that inspired me to put this outfit together in the first place. The first piece of clothing that started out this look today was the plaid skirt – I felt that the length was conservative enough to make it seem as though it actually belonged to a real Catholic School Uniform, making it the appropriate choice. From there I chose to use a super low cut cami and paired it with a sexy lacy bra peeking out at the top which I haven’t actually decided whether or not to call it sexy or trashy – I’ll let you be the judges, either way suits the look to me. To give this look a touch of innocence I have accessorized with a pair of argyle socks from Puma Jie’s adorable Corduroy store and one of 2007’s trendiest items, rosary beads. Finished off with one of the must-have items of 2007, the Crisis Pumps (scripted to change to over 40 colors = AMAZING) and haphazardly styled hair with some crazy coloring, this look is the perfect balance of sexy, trashy, and innocent…. And for those who don’t know – sometimes trashy can be a good thing.

Does anyone remember their first encounters with the world of “fashion” in Second Life? I sure as hell do. An image on the Second Life website under the “Fashion” tab (which was actually there until recently when they removed those helpful little tabs). It was a scrolling picture of a gorgeous knock-kneed model sporting a pair of funky knee-high square-toed boots wearing a fringed mini-skirt and a corseted top. My first thought was “I want to look like her!” – and I made that my mission.
Long story short – it wasn’t before long that I learned that the maker of those boots that I admired so was Fallingwater Cellador of Shiny Things; the boots at that time weren’t for sale – so my dreams of construction that outfit for myself were put on the back-burner. But it wasn’t until I truly discovered the possibilities of fashion in Second Life that I decided that style was simply not for me anyway. However, keeping the excitement of those newbie moments in mind; today’s outfit is inspired by that very outfit somewhat altered to suit my own style:

My first inclination at possibly putting this outfit together came when Fallingwater recently released a sculptie remake of her famous boots. I seem to have developed a fetish for riding boots (along with a majority of the female population), and these boots – although not technically riding boots – quenched my desires for a pair in Second Life. The second thing that perhaps was what set the ball rolling in reality was Kyoot Army’s new Naga Skirt; which fills the void of the old fringe PixelDolls skirt from the original image quite nicely; the snakeskin texture and shredded prims are the perfect balance of funky and sexy, without being too short or too revealing. Instead of a corseted top, I opted for a long sleeved plain jersey top in a grayish brown and coupled it with a short length scarf in with a plaid pattern in muted tones. Finally, I accessorized with an overzied satchel ala Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen and styled my hair in a disheveled, highly textured side-pony to create a look that is both funky …. and fresh.

I was feeling a little silly and goofy today…

The black sweater is really nice, and I particularly like the front pockets or muffler — a nice unusual detail. Goofy as I was feeling I threw on a mini-mini skirt and then covered up the legs with leggings and funky socks. I stuck my feet in really chunky and super-high platform sandals for a bit of funky.

HCT released some new hair and I picked this nice and quirky updo for today — I really love the bangs.

I’m still in a casual mood today, but with an urban feel.

I have black loose cargo pants (which makes a nice change from all the skinny pants I usually wear) that I’ve paired with this juicy turquoise tank for a splash of colour. I’ve accessorised with arm warmers, a utility-style belt bag and a generous helping of gold jewellery in the form of super-huge bamboo hoops and chains around the neck.

This hat and hairdo was what got me started on the urban feel today — I just love it!

A bit of an urban feel today with lots of prims and pink.

It all started with the best trainers I’ve ever seen in-world — usually they are far too clumsy and big for my liking — these, however, are near perfect! I combined them with worn jeans and a funky, matching pink waistcoat. I fell in love with the necklace I’m wearing as soon as I saw it — it’s already a major favorite!

I couldn’t resist the headphones; in RL I have them literally glued to my head at all times.

If you’ve been reading this blog, chances are you have realised I have a thing about gold…..

So how could I possibly resist these glorious gold metallic pants? They are so sexy that I wanted them for a club night look. I added a purple glitter bikini top (which these pics really don’t show the best of) covered by a see-through shirt. If you are more adventurous than me, you could skip the shirt for a super-duper sexy look. I also indulged in more gold in the form of sexy double necklaces, bracelets and strappy heels.

The hair is also golden and sexy (what else?) and the make-up is heavy on the eyes with blushed cheeks and pale lips.

An everyday chic outfit, with a little urban feel for the city girl.
If I’m not mistaken, this may well be the first cowl neck top in SL — and it’s all thanks to sculpties.

I felt like something sporty and urban, yet chic, so I added white capri jeans and ankle stiletto boots, and I suddenly felt JLo-esque — just what I wanted! Chunky bangles, a bold, beautiful necklace and must-have hoops give a bit of that urban feel.
The hair is pulled away in a casual updo, so that it won’t crowd the busy neckline. Make-up is glam with metallic lips and dramatic eyes.

It’s Saturday night and it’s club night! I went with a more urban look today, combining a hoodie with a pair of shorts.

The hoodie from X3D is of course very glam with stars sprinkled all over it, and I continued on the sparkle theme with lots of exagerated silver or platinum jewerly (bling warning for earrings and necklace) for some of that urban feel.

I kept the rest of the garments all black to balance all the sparkle. I finished off with cool platform shoes, for cutting some serius rug.

The hair is messy and sexy and the make-up is dramatic.
