Urban Chick

February 04th, 2008 | Category: Attitude, Fashion, Funky, Looks, Rock-Chic, Urban

I’ve had these over-knee boots for a while and I’ve been wanting to wear them, but I never managed a look that didn’t look just trashy. So, today I experimented with an urban, rock-chic version and I think the boots come out looking good.

I wanted a tiny leather jacket with a large sweater underneath and, oh my was that difficult! This little biker jacket here was perfect and caused no problem; the trouble started with finding something longer that was NOT on the Jacket Layer — eventually (after a lot of testing, fiddling and hair pulling) I went with this sweater on the Shirt Layer and a piece from a Camie Cooper Tee on the Pants Layer (God bless Camie Cooper, the queen of providing ALL layers) to cover the midriff part. Granted, the midriff part is not in the same colour as the sweater, but I actually kind of like the contrast. Finally, the sweater I used, came with this prim bottom attachment that was perfect for that big loose feeling I wanted. I continued with black pants (on the Underpant layer) and then added a beret just because it felt right.

Oh dear, I hope all that was not too confusing! A disclaimer: the bottom prim part of the sweater was actually really hard to make fit perfectly (I never managed a perfect fit), so if you prefer, just skip it for less of a headache.

Casual Rock

January 26th, 2008 | Category: Attitude, Casual, Fashion, Funky, Looks, New Designer, Rock-Chic, Urban

I really had no intention of posting today as I like to be lazy on Saturdays. However, I went to check out this new-to-me shop, Emery, and I immediately fell for this causal yet rocky dress.

Casual RockCasual Rock

Although it’s definitely a dress, I felt for a more slouchy T-shirt kind of look and added a pair of white skinny jeans and a belt around the hips. My feet went into these pointy stilettos with the strong fuchsia providing an element of colour and picking up on the print on the dress.

These aviator glasses are also from Emery — love them too!

Earthy Hot…

January 21st, 2008 | Category: Attitude, Fashion, Looks, New Designer, Rock-Chic, Sexy

Here’s an earthy and hot look to get you noticed.

Earthy Hot…Earthy Hot…

The dress is one of those that really does all the work on its own. It’s sexy, well cut and well textured — I especially like the lacy texture on the skirt prims. However, there is a big drawback; the price. At 800L$ it’s perhaps stretching it a little.

Nevertheless, it’s definitely a dress I like and enjoy wearing. I paired it with a pair of knee-high brown boots, wood jewellery and super-sexy hair.

Pink Chick

January 18th, 2008 | Category: Attitude, Fashion, Funky, Looks, Rock-Chic

A rock-chic look with a splash of feminine pink.

The centre piece is of course the pink leather jacket, which I paired with a plain black T-shirt and black skinny jeans. I chose these sexy knee-high boots and the studded belt for some edge.

This necklace here is actually one of the very first pieces I ever bought! It works perfectly for this look. I finished off with the slouchy hat on straight hair for a current flavour.

Chic, Sexy and Slouchy

January 10th, 2008 | Category: Chic, Fashion, Funky, Looks, Rock-Chic, Sexy

I realise this dress is by no means a new release but for some mysterious reason it had passed me by completely and I only discovered it today.

Chic, Sexy and SlouchyChic, Sexy and Slouchy

Simply put; I adore it! Another fab creation from Maitreya. It’s casual yet chic and has a relaxed sexiness about it — this dress will take you anywhere you need to go. I only added a pair of knee-high boots, some wooden bangles and sexy hair to complete the look.

Casual Leathers

January 06th, 2008 | Category: Casual, Daytime, Fashion, Looks, My Style, Rock-Chic

Here’s a combination of two current favourites of mine.

Casual LeathersCasual Leathers

It’s the leather Bomber jacket (with a great hoody) and the superb brown casual boots that Sofia found the other day. The Bomber is another product out of Muism and yet again they prove to me to be one of the top jacket designers on the grid. I combined it with a white turtleneck sweater (on the Shirt layer and system Underpants in white to cover the gap between jacket and jeans) and really skinny dark jeans, which together with the boots make for a warm and cosy winter’s day look. I also added a white bag for a little lightness. This is something I would typically wear on a normal day in RL.

A word on the bling in the boots: I had lots of trouble removing the bling script and replacing it with a “no bling script” to make it actually stop — but that is very likely due to my clumsiness with prim-manipulations (the script sits in the lower buckle on each boot). I also wanted to give you the link to an article over on Second Style Fashionista with a free “no bling” script offered by Celebrity Trollop - Click Here. It’s not always enough to remove the bling script, you have to replace it with one of these to make it really stop.

Drugs, Rock-n-roll, Badass … Vegas hoes …

January 03rd, 2008 | Category: Attitude, Club Wear, Fashion, Funky, Looks, Men, Retro, Rock-Chic, Sexy

… late night … booty calls - SHINY DISCO BALLS….

And I’m sure that the majority of people reading this have no idea what the hell the title and start of this blog post are referring to - but if you do, good for you.  As I mentioned yesterday, there will actually be two blog posts today - and they both follow one theme:  Music.

Music is something that I find universally inspires everyone - like a muse; go figure.  Ever since Milla had given me the oppurtunity to blog on MichaMi I have been bugging my good friend Catero Revolution to do a blog post with me - why? Because he’s just so stylish and sexy - I mean let’s face it, Catero’s got good taste - and his avatar always looks delicious.  Soo… long story short, after a little poking and proding, he finally agreed to do one with me - so long as it involved one thing: Disco.

Not being a huge fan of the Disco era, or at least not having an extremely comprehensive knowledge of the era - it did take a little convincing - however, I like the Scissor Sisters and having a good time every now and then… so… I’ll go with it:

Sofia and Catero “Disco†View OneSofia and Catero “Disco†View Two

As soon as Catero showed up to take the pictures in his outfit, I knew I had to do something that was a bit more simple; when you’re dressing as a couple - you dont want it to seem as though you’re competing with each other for the spotlight.  Piecing this together was fairly simple in many respects, but it took some serious digging through my landmark library to actually find something that would work.  I started with a bob with some razor sharp angles and bangs, very Cleopatra-esque.  From there I simply went for a bright strapless jumper with the most rediculously bright belt I could find… glitter and highly saturated colors - check.  I finished off my whole look with a pair of basic metalic pumps and for fear of overdoing it anymore than we already had, I left it at that.  Oh, and let’s not forget that strong cat-eye makeup as well…

How Catero came up with his look?  It probobly involved some mushrooms and a darklight, that’s all I can say.

My Picks for 2008 - Happy New Year!

January 01st, 2008 | Category: Attitude, Club Wear, Fashion, Funky, Girlie, Glam, Looks, Nighttime, Rock-Chic, Sexy

Happy New Year!
2008

I hope you all had a very happy and safe New Year - and hopefully reading this blog while delicately nursing that miserable hang-over.  It’s crazy to think that it’s once again a whole new year - I feel like only yesterday it was the beginning of 2007 and the prospects of what the new year may bring were buzzing around the grid; and I must say - 2007 certainly did deliver in that respect, and I was not disappointed.  In today’s post I’d like to focus on some of the content creators who I think will be making a big splash in the fashion community through the course of 2008 - or at least the ones I’ll be watching for.

Most of us will have visited more than one party last night, and today’s outfit is what I like to call “the after party dress” - it’s a little edgy and funky, and extremely sexy - for those of you who made appearances all over the place, can’t be seen in the same dress twice (especially in one night!) - right?

Sofia “2008? Front ViewSofia “2008? Back View

One color that I have started to see getting picked up lately is purple; I don’t know if I would go so far as to say it will be the color of next season, but I definitely feel like a purple trend is starting - and so therefor I started this look with Shai Delacroix’s gorgeous Lilac Wine Dress.  It’s just so elegant and sexy and despite all the textures and lines in the front (and that collar, jeez), the open back is really where the party is.  To me, this dress is a perfect example of the necessary balance between sexy and classy.  I have paired it with Storm Schmooz’s latest knee high boot which is simple enough to not overpower the dress, but also provides an adequate amount of sex appeal to keep it balanced.  And finally considering the dresses collar, it was pretty difficult to find the right hair without making it seem weighed down - but after much consideration, I’ve revisited my love affair with all that is Victoria Beckham and gone once more for that super textured short bob; which I think is going to be HUGE this year in both real life and Second Life - if you don’t consider it huge already.

Strapped In

December 18th, 2007 | Category: Casual, Fashion, Funky, Looks, Rock-Chic

I found a new-to-me designer today and picked out this jacket and pant set.

Strapped InStrapped In

I was checking out Storm Schmooz’s new main store on Modish when I strolled into one of the neighbouring stores; UK Couture. I really like the jacket with all the little straps and belts — I have a thing for military/uniform-esque clothing and this here appeals to that side of me. My only complaint would be that I would like it on all the layers (it currently only comes on the Shirt layer) to make it really versatile. I added a tank in black underneath for some extra cover. I’m wearing the white pants on the Underpant layer for a really skinny look. That skinny look was accentuated nicely by these funky boots and the wide belt in silver.

Red Rock

October 26th, 2007 | Category: Attitude, Fashion, Looks, Nighttime, Rock-Chic, Sexy

It’s Friday and party time! Here is a red hot, rock-chic look to get you going.

Red RockRed Rock

The super sexy, red little number does everything for this look — I opted for metallic leggings underneath, but if you want to crank up the sexy; leave them off. Take a look at my slingbacks, aren’t they fabulous! I found this little shop full of gorgeous sculptie shoes completely by accident. It’s called Stiletto Moody shoes (SLurl) and has officially not yet opened, but if you join the group (Stiletto Moody Shoes) you will be notified once they do, and you will get an opportunity to buy all the shoes at 50% discount for 1 day. I really recommend you join the group for the discount alone, as they are planning on setting the price per pair at a whopping L$900.

Red Rock

I love this new rocky hair from Armidi!
