Aloha!
Long time no blogging, huh? Looks like my virtual vacation turned into a vacation from the virtual - my wireless connection is being impossible since the other day (hence the lack of posts), so I haven’t been able to login to SL until last night. This is the best I could do under the circumstances.

Travelling Thoughts
Outside is looking very white today, but when I was putting this look together my mind was on vacation; wandering to markets and beaches in warmer countries, travelling back to days before my time and suddenly…

Returning with Gifts
[Insert Evil Laughter Here] I have just wished Milla a good evening and she is off to bed, so it’s time for some mischief. Well, not really… but close, I guess? At this point I’m kinda like that aunt that comes to visit every once in a while with a really good gift for you to quell your sadness of having to spend time with me, right?
Well, this time I have a good gift for everyone - Lo Jacobs has returned! Well, sort of. It’s not really like she was gone in the first place - but her store Luxe Brand has returned in the form of an outlet- selling some of her old designs. For those of you who don’t know or don’t remember Luxe Brand and Lo Jacobs - it was the clothing store that originally accompanied Dazzle Haute Couture in the Dazzle sim before it closed down in 2006. And let me be the first to say, there are some real treasures in there for those willing to go look. (The Military Coat, The White Victorian Top, The Empire Bondage Tops, and the Black Widow Top to name a few.)
I have been asked about this top a lot; especially recently. It’s perhaps one of my most prized possessions in my inventory - the White Vicotian Top. I’ve paired it with a multitude of things since I purchased it last year, but today I’ve opted for a pair of high-waisted black shorts (from the new OPIUM Everyday by Alaska Metrolpolitan) and knee high leather boots. The top itself has a certain amount of sophistication and class that I felt needed a bit of sex appeal to give the look the right amount of balance.

8 commentsAin’t No Other …
Everyone has someone that they idolize stylistically in both Second Life and real life, whether they want to admit it or not. There has rarely been an occasion in my life where I’ve met someone and said “Damn, they really -do- march to the beat of their own drum… don’t they?” - every facet of fashion has it’s “face” - making it nearly impossible to do something that’s really never been done before. Obviously one of the most popular sources for inspiration when it comes to style of dress is media and popular culture - and for me one person (of the hundreds) that I’ve always idolized stylistically is Christina Aguilera - or at least since her “Stripped” era; As I’ve said before - I think that raunchy can still be stylish.
My second outfit for today is inspired entirely by an outfit Christina wears in her “Ain’t No Other Man” video for a few short sequences - I’ve obviously however put a small twist on it to make it more appropriate for wearing out:
Since it’s fairly obvious that my normal skin-tone of Bronze looks pretty bad with blond hair, I actually started this look out by switching over to RaC’s Tasha skin - which I’m sure you’ve seen on at least every other blog in the Fashion Planet feed by now. The soft skin tone for me worked much better with blond locks - and also, a minor detail — the red lips seem to work much better for the Tasha skin than any of the others that I seem to own; No Christina Aguilera look is complete without red lips. I’ve replaced the ruffled panties from the video with a pair of satin white shorts and instead of using a sheer over-sized sweater, I’ve used a rich red sweater with a deep neckline and a 3/4 sleeve (I had to tint it red myself). I’ve finished off the look with one of my favorite hairstyles from Elikapeka Tiramisu’s AVEDA line that gives this look the perfect ‘vintage/retro‘ feel that Christina Aguilera’s current style seems to be so strongly attached to - and a very basic white heel. As far as accessories go, I’ve used a simple chain with ballet slipper charms and the retro style headphones that complete the over-all look.

… late night … booty calls -Â SHINY DISCO BALLS….
And I’m sure that the majority of people reading this have no idea what the hell the title and start of this blog post are referring to - but if you do, good for you. As I mentioned yesterday, there will actually be two blog posts today - and they both follow one theme: Music.
Music is something that I find universally inspires everyone - like a muse; go figure. Ever since Milla had given me the oppurtunity to blog on MichaMi I have been bugging my good friend Catero Revolution to do a blog post with me - why? Because he’s just so stylish and sexy - I mean let’s face it, Catero’s got good taste - and his avatar always looks delicious. Soo… long story short, after a little poking and proding, he finally agreed to do one with me - so long as it involved one thing: Disco.
Not being a huge fan of the Disco era, or at least not having an extremely comprehensive knowledge of the era - it did take a little convincing - however, I like the Scissor Sisters and having a good time every now and then… so… I’ll go with it:
As soon as Catero showed up to take the pictures in his outfit, I knew I had to do something that was a bit more simple; when you’re dressing as a couple - you dont want it to seem as though you’re competing with each other for the spotlight. Piecing this together was fairly simple in many respects, but it took some serious digging through my landmark library to actually find something that would work. I started with a bob with some razor sharp angles and bangs, very Cleopatra-esque. From there I simply went for a bright strapless jumper with the most rediculously bright belt I could find… glitter and highly saturated colors - check. I finished off my whole look with a pair of basic metalic pumps and for fear of overdoing it anymore than we already had, I left it at that. Oh, and let’s not forget that strong cat-eye makeup as well…
How Catero came up with his look? It probobly involved some mushrooms and a darklight, that’s all I can say.

Music has always been a muse for me in my everyday life - I am constantly inspired by different artist’s lyrics and more importantly, their style in dress (to anyone who caught my shout-out to Kelis in the last entry, good work). Today’s outfit is completely and entirely inspired by an outfit that can be seen in Leona Lewis’ video for Bleeding Love; I can take no credit what-so-ever in it’s conception, however I have been inspired to create this outfit based one seen in the video:
Anyone who is familiar with Dolce and Gabbana should know they have been pushing their metallic corseted belts onto any celebrity daring enough to wear them (see: Beyonce, Victoria Beckham, Leona Lewis, etc.). Luckily for Second Lifers, Starley Thereian has brought her own version into Second Life. (Warning: Belt may need to be adjusted to suit your avatars shape best.) My desire to see how and where this belt may work in my inventory is what prompted me to create this look. I’ve paired the belt with a simple strapless mini-dress and added the vintage inspired leggings to give the outfit a much needed pop. To add some weight to my bottom half, I have decided to wear an ultra chunky wedge, which I feel fits the look perfectly. Finished off with shell earrings and a simple over-the-shoulder pony this outfit balances retro and modern to create a look that is strong and sexy at the same time without being offensive or cliche.

2 commentsHoney Golden
This gorgeous coat just popped off the screen for me whilst perusing the Fashion Planet Feed this morning, and I fell instantly for the soft honey golden texture — don’t you just love when that happens!
My instant infatuation proved to be well deserved once I put the coat on — I love it! The texture was just as nice as the pictures promised and the coat skirt is so flirty and full of movement I find myself skipping around like a silly little girl. I didn’t have to do a lot for this look, just some shimmery leggings and cute pumps in a brown colour that picks up on the fur trimmings of the coat.
I’m still wearing the same hair from yesterday, but I thought it was appropriate here too for that 70’s feel.
3 commentsSplash!
Here is a dress that’ll pick you up when feeling a little down. It’s funky, fun, and the opposite of boring — a real splash!
I’m a professed minidress lover and this one most definitely makes my grade. The prim skirt is great and has been blended into the texture beautifully. I went for the (obvious) retro look with white boots, a matching opal necklace, white hoops, and the wide hairband.
