So I came in-world today with the idea of putting together a look for the Oscars tomorrow… needless to say I suffered a major FAIL.  I tried, I really did, but the truth is I S.U.C.K. at formal styling! After shifting through one beautiful gown after the other, my inner all-defying, five-year old came out to play and insisted I do the opposite of formal. And here we are, rock girl.

I’ve always loved the kick-ass outfits worn by those cool and fierce girls you see around the grid (and in many a blog).  I never felt that I could really pull it off though; in my attempts I always felt a little fake, or that the clothes were wearing me, and that I should really be tripping around in a pair of strappy stilettos and girly skirts.  But this time, I’m truly and honestly loving this look.  So much so that I’ve been wearing it for days, and I still don’t want to change.  Now I just need to find some good ass to kick….

Here is a version of a big city, busy bitch.  The combination of the rock-hot leather jacket with the classic high-waisted pencil skirt speaks of a professional woman with attitude.  I added the over-the-knee boots in matching gray and little driver gloves and bag in a navy that compliment the fuchsia of the skirt to finish the look.

I got this very elegant feathered skirt from COCO, which at first I tried styling in a classical way. But I just wasn’t feeling it, so I did a 180 and decided to dirty it down.  Hence this feathers and plaid combo!

So I went shopping in Digital Darkes the other day and picked up this fabulous dress and these feathery gloves, which I though when beautifully together.  Both work perfectly for a glam girl look, which I topped off with these super-sexy, thigh-high boots from J’s.  I finished things with a messy and relaxed hair-do to counter the glam just a bit.

The moment I clapped my eyes on these knee-high boots from COCO I just needed them! And they are made of AWESOME! As they are flat-heeled I opted for a relaxed and flirty look, with a plain, black mini skirt and cardigan, balanced out with a touch of glam in the sequined top and the heavy-duty jewellery.  Truth’s latest braids finished things off beautifully

So I’m rocking big hair and shoulder pads, and this isn’t even an 80’s look!  The hair is the new Makenzie from Truth, which may or may not have made me pee in my pants when I first tried it on.  The minidress is also right up my alley as I love body stocking-like dresses; and the studded shoulders pads are just to-die-for!

This is another look I did a little while back.  I fancied tassels, so tassels I got!  I edited the sculpted part of the white tank to cover my butt (and I wore white panties) and then just left my legs bare.  I actually went to a party like this (and had lots of fun!)

I love looks that are both comfortable and sexy.  I think I got that feeling here with the fierce top from PixelDolls (which is ancient by the way!) paired with loose and slouchy pants and super sexy heels.  This was also a perfect opportunity for piling on my favourite jewellery from Zaara.
