Today’s look is a complete antidote to yesterday’s covered-up rainy day blues, with a dress made of sunshine!

*more after the jump*

I was trying on some new stuff yesterday and as soon as I popped this yellow little number on, my mood lifted instantly! The colour is a perfect, soft yellow with a super cute print, and the cut is a well-done classic tube dress. It’s by a new-to-me designer/shop called KA Designs and judging by this dress I will definitely be keeping a close eye on what comes out of there in the future.

I opted for a cute and girlie daytime look with casual wedge heels in a pinky-rose colour that pick up on the dress print, messy hair and large white sunglasses — perfect for a day on the beach, or maybe shopping and lunching with the girls.

Aloha!
Long time no blogging, huh? Looks like my virtual vacation turned into a vacation from the virtual – my wireless connection is being impossible since the other day (hence the lack of posts), so I haven’t been able to login to SL until last night. This is the best I could do under the circumstances.

*Product details after the cut*

Even though it was difficult to shoot, I really love this outfit. The feminine silhouette created by skirts like this one kind of make me think of “the new look” with which Christian Dior revolutionized fashion in 1947, and that seems to be fairly big this spring as well – in more traditional versions and those with a twist of some sort. In times where curves aren’t commonly on models it’s nice to see a strong hourglass figure every now and then, right? My look isn’t exactly classic; I wanted a well-balanced colourbomb with some funky accessories that wouldn’t take it over the top.
The hair doesn’t look exactly as pictured when you buy it, I modified it a bit by taking off the ponytail and making the front bigger. The sheer tank from Last Call’s “Kadesh” set is one of my “most worn” items lately, it’s tintable and a bikini top underneath looks summerish and – in my opinion – sexy without drifting towards vulgarity (“the ugliest word”, according to Coco Chanel). The tones on these Tesla heels go perfectly with the lower part of the skirt, almost to the point where they seem to belong and the tiny dots on the back of the shoes are somewhat reminiscent to the sparkly texture on the Yelena bikini top. I don’t wear earrings very often, but when I do I like for them to be understated or oversized or quite strange. The bamboomerangs shown here come in different sizes, gold and silver and are scripted with a bunch of textures, one of them happens to have the same colours as the skirt. Along with the bangles, tooth necklace and clutch I think it finishes off the look pretty nicely. Sometimes mixed influences can certainly blend well.

Sorry about the brief silence, but a bit later I’ll be making a post again – my last one here at MichaMi. Time has passed quickly here and you guys have made it so much more fun. Really. Thanks!

Outside is looking very white today, but when I was putting this look together my mind was on vacation; wandering to markets and beaches in warmer countries, travelling back to days before my time and suddenly…

*More and product details after the cut*

… I was searching for laid-back and adventurous boho with a slight retro luxe feel. Usually when luxury is mentioned it’s pretty natural to think “excess”, but here I’m thinking in terms of quality and comfort rather than diamonds and platinum. Like mentioned in a previous post – nothing in Second Life is literally uncomfortable, but what I wear can definitely affect as well as depend on my mood and right now I am really longing for a warm breeze. Can you tell?
The Kurotsubaki top almost creates the illusion of being in a windy setting, it is very flowing and also what I based the outfit on. I’m sure it works very well with a minidress and flats too, which was how I originally intended to wear it along with a long scarf and fedora or a big floppy hat. Instead I went for the white slacks and a simple bikini top to cut down on the “boho” and add a bit of casual class. These shoes are my latest favourites, nevertheless I’d gladly let my hair down and carry them in my hand had I a gorgeous beach in sight. (TR, this means I am dragging you to one. Vacation please?)

All this winter inspired stuff is starting to make me nauseous. Today, we’re heading to the pool.

During the holiday season or even just the winter in general, thousands of people will flock to their favorite warm vacation spots to get away from the blistering cold and all that gross white stuff that covers the ground making it difficult to get to school and work every day. Today’s outfit is inspired by every-one’s favorite resort vacation – you know, the one where there’s a bar in the pool and everything is all inclusive. Yes, please:

What? Another strapless mini? Yes. What I actually started today’s outfit with was the plain white flip flops. They had been sitting in my inventory for over a year, and I don’t think I’ve used them more than two or three times, but today when I was searching for the right “tropical” sim to loiter in, they seemed appropriate. I continued from there by throwing on my favorite bikini (Cyrene from LAST CALL*) and that super cute pair of bug-eye sunglasses. After sitting in my lounge chair for a while, however – I decided that the outfit needed something a bit more to give it a bit of umph -something one might wear over their swimsuit when they are sitting at the bar sipping cocktails at mid-day. My inspiration for the mini-dress was actually that terrycloth Juicy Couture dress that was really popular a few years ago (that I got so sick of wearing and seeing) - I started out in the same way that I did the last mini; with the Armidi tank bottom, and I paired it with the strapless top in a matching color from LAST CALL. Finally I accessorized with that little Pochette from ETD – perfect to fit your little bottle of tanning oil, SPF, a tube of lip-gloss (not while you lay out, please), and those few extra dollars for tipping that super cute guy behind the bar that’s mixing your Pina Coladas.

I’ve been drifting more and more towards autumn fashions and more covered up looks lately. But it’s still summer most definitely! Here is one of my favorite summer dresses of the season that I had still not blogged.

It’s the Luau Dress from Karamia — I love everything about it, the colours, the cut, the pattern… just lovely. In fact, I’ve added Karamia to my Newcomers list as I love pretty much everything in that shop. I accessorised with the new jewelry from Last Call and the new wedges from Maitreya.

This is the year of tunics and kaftans on the beach, and the one I’m wearing here is perfect for throwing on over the bikini. I added some golden-khaki shorts, matching bangles and large hoops for some fashionable glam.

This new (coming soon) ETD hairstyle is my new current love object – I can hardly take it off! Luckily it goes beautifully with this beachy daytime look. Sunglasses are of course a must.

When you read this post, I’ll be lying on a beach and only moving my lazy behind to turn myself over, and maybe to reach out for a cool drink… Yes, I’m on a little break and this post is something I prepared earlier.

Needless to say, my inspiration is the beach! I’m thinking of one of those ad hoc beach or pool parties that just seem to happen out of nowhere. The look is cute and perky.

Love the pink! The pink halter is paired with the cutest little flirty skirt and some pink bangles and discrete silver jewelry, that could have just been thrown over your bikini.

The hair is short and held back by a cool hair band that comes all the way down the back. Make-up is minimal with my favorite freckles and slightly pink lips.
