Elevator Entrance and a Quick Hello
Hej everyone!
As Milla explained youâll be seeing a bit of me here while she is on her break. Writing may not be my forte, but when it comes to fashion and personal style I always have some thoughts and ideas to share. Itâs something Iâm constantly exploring and have plenty of love for. Iâm very excited as well as flattered that she asked me to take over the blog during her absence; Iâve got pretty big size zero shoes to fill, non? The posts here will be my first SL-related blog posts and Iâll most likely keep them short and sweet, but I also think the looks will speak for themselves to a certain extent and hopefully you will all like the result as much as I enjoy putting it together. Now⊠a little peek into my messy inventory, some of the things I like and then some reasons why. Expect eclectic, and thank you for reading. (:
âLook beyond the mainstream for things that say something about youâ.
*More after the jump*
When I was trying to decide what outfit would be fit for a blogging debut I wasnât sure in which direction I should be heading. My style is pretty eclectic and like for most people what I go for tends to depend on my mood, current inspirations as well as the occasion. Although, there are a few things that arenât part of an experiment, things that instantly feel âjust rightâ. For the time Iâm here you will be seeing a few of my âjust rightâ things mixed up with something Iâm testing to keep it experimental. As a strong advocate of personal style and taking risks when it comes to what you wear Iâm probably treading on that fine line between mix-matched and mismatched every now and then, so Iâm going to start off with something clean but unusual this time.
When I get dressed I usually keep âcontrastâ in mind while at the same time trying to follow a red thread. This look is obviously monotonously metallic colourwise, but the dress fabric looks thin and light while the vest and boots have this soft and slouchy thing going on adding some volume to an otherwise straight silhouette. It makes me feel comfortable yet edgy in a minimalistic way, almost a bit futuristic toying with the thought of luxurious materials merging with metals. My mind is prone to drifting, what can I say? Razorblade earrings and a heavy, straight cut bangs adds a bit of the edge, the clutch and oversized ring a touch of glam. In case you arenât going to any crowded elevator parties somewhere in the future - donât fret! Tomorrow I bring you colour.

welcome, Mariya!!
That skin is wonderfull.
It’s so nice to have you hosting Milla’s blog….such a fun sleek look <3!
I think it’s a sign of a well mixed and creative outfit that at first glance I didn’t even realize that was my dress. Fantastic look as usual<3
Look at you, Mariya! Soon you’ll be blogging like crazy, just like Sofia!
@ Elaine: Thank you!
@ Leilei: I like it too, Redgrave recently released some celebrity skins for women - definitely worth checking out.
@ Jyla: Glad you like the look, and am happy to be here as well!
@ ‘Kota: Haha! Thanks a lot, ‘Kota. This dress was totally love at first sight for me, and I’m still. Not. Over. It. Very elegant, clean yet interesting - goes for a lot of your designs.
@ Anika: I’m not sure I could ever keep up with Sofia, unlike her I’m a rather lazy writer, but I’ll make sure to incorporate the “crazy” into my looks instead.
Not sure I would be too good at avoiding that.
